Welcome to the seminar "Social Entrepreneurship"!
The
seminar "Social Entrepreneurship", led by Prof. Dr. Regina
Mulder in cooperation with Prof.
Dr. Lea Cassar (Chair of Empirical Economics) is held in English and
offers students - who are, for instance, interested in founding and leading their own company for coaching and/or training - an in-depth exploration of selected topics at the
intersection of social change, social innovation, and social entrepreneurship,
grounded in empirical research from the fields of economics, psychology and
educational science. In highly interactive settings, participants will explore the initial
social challenges involved in creating a social enterprise, examining
strategies for addressing these challenges and learning how to thoughtfully
plan and develop a social enterprise to effectively meet them. Students will also learn how to run impact
evaluations, purposefully apply their creativity, and effectively present their
own ideas.
Questions
that will be addresses are for example:
Which
social problem do I want to address, and what plausible solutions can I
offer?"
"How can I plan, launch, and scale my social enterprise?"
"What types of incentives are effective in motivating employees within
social enterprises?"
"How can I evaluate the social impact of my enterprise?"
By the
end of the seminar, students will have developed the ability to identify
interdisciplinary connections and apply integrated approaches to complex issues
within the field of educational science. Through engagement with diverse
perspectives and methodologies, they will be equipped to critically reflect on
educational challenges and devise innovative, cross-disciplinary solutions.
The successful completion of the course requires active participation, the delivery of a presentation
during the seminar, and the submission of a written assignment at its conclusion, aimed at practicing and
integrating the content learned.
