This module deals with ethical challenges that arise when developing and using AI, and provides tools for making ethically sound decisions.
Lectures on concepts of normative ethics and relevant applied ethics, on principles for developing and using AI ethically (e.g., fairness, transparency, data privacy), and on the effects of AI on society and individuals lay the theoretical foundation. In interactive units, this fundamental knowledge is used to tackle ethical questions in the field of AI. Here, real-world example cases are systematically analysed using ethical tools. These analyses focus on developing recommendations for how to deal with the AI methods and systems concerned.
