2. optical spectroscopy (Raman scattering, IR spectroscopy, THz spectroscopy, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, UV and X-ray spectroscopy, Mößbauer spectroscopy)
3. spectroscopy with electrons (photoemission spectroscopy, scanning tunneling spectroscopy, electron loss spectroscopy, IV-LEED)
4. spectroscopy with other particles (neutron scattering, ion scattering)
5. time-resolved spectroscopy (femtosecond laser pulses, time-resolved ARPES, time-resolved STM, time-resolved optical spectroscopy, attosecond spectroscopy)

special lecture about exotic states of matter including

• superfluids and supersolids
• 1D solids: Luttinger liquids and charge density waves
• high-temperature superconductors
• topological insulators and non-Abelian statistics
• light-induced exotic states of matter
