Der chemische Sinn ist für das Leben von zentraler Bedeutung und chemische Signale sind allgegenwärtig. Welche Interaktionen zwischen Organsimen werden durch chemische Signalstoffe vermittelt? Welche Rolle spielen sie bei der Partner- und Nahrungssuche, der Verteidigung oder der Vermeidung von Konkurrenten und Feinden? Wie und wo werden sie produziert  und perzipiert? Falls Sie sich immer noch fragen, warum Sie als Studierende der Biologie so viel Chemie gelernt haben, dann könnte die faszinierende Welt der chemischen Kommunikation eine Antwort liefern.

The chemical sense is central to life and chemical signals are ubiquitous. What interactions between organism are mediated by chemical signaling? What role do they play in mate and food search, defense or avoidance of competitors and enemies? How and where are they produced and perceived? If you're still wondering why you learned so much chemistry as a biology student, the fascinating world of chemical communication may provide an answer.
